Gerard Callan |
This summer Gerard Callan studied abroad in Amman, Jordan at the Qasid Arabic Institude. Here Jerry was immersed in the language and the culture of the Middle East. From improving his Arabic skills to learning how to make a perfect falfal sandwich, Jerry feels that this trip was both enriching and sobering, "When the locals are as interested in you, as you are in them, it makes for an incredible study abroad experience. It was the people I met that made the whole trip worth while "
Other than classroom instruction Jerry was able to go out and explore many of Jordan's ecotourist landmarks such as petra, wadi rum, and the Dana nature reserve. |
